Good general livability. Ample areas for exercise. University nearby for continuing education with a Second Half of Learning program. Great resources from Council on Aging.
My perspective may not be an accurate one, as I have lived in the area for only a year and am still discovering aspects of the neighbourhood. Also, my wife and I work Westport is, or was, a farming community and comprises of rather scattered communities. There appears to be a higher proportional amount of people who are near or in retirement age than other areas I have lived. There are easily accessed stores off the main roads, although for more intense shopping a trip to the nearest city of Fall River would probably be more beneficial. As a leafier suburb, there may be less conveniences than more urban areas, for instance in regards to care, education, working and community engagement.
