Topeka (; Kansa: Tó Pee Kuh) is the capital city of the U.S. state of Kansas and the seat of Shawnee County. It is situated along the Kansas River in the central part of Shawnee County, in northeast Kansas, in the Central United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 127,473. The Topeka Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Shawnee, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage, and Wabaunsee counties, had a population of 233,870 in the 2010 census. The name Topeka is a Kansa-Osage sentence that means "place where we dug potatoes", or "a good place to dig potatoes". As a placename, Topeka was first recorded in 1826 as the Kansa name for what is now called the Kansas River. Topeka's founders chose the name in 1855 because it "was novel, of Indian origin and euphonious of sound." The mixed-blood Kansa Native American, Joseph James, called Jojim, is credited with suggesting the name of Topeka. The city, laid out in 1854, was one of the Free-State towns founded by Eastern antislavery men immediately after the passage of the Kansas–Nebraska Bill. In 1857, Topeka was chartered as a city. The city is well known for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, which overturned Plessy vs. Ferguson and declared racial segregation in public schools to be unconstitutional. Three ships of the U.S. Navy have been named USS Topeka after the city.

I feel where I live is not a good place to be working, a lot of strange people walk our area .
Demographically this neighborhood is lower income and a bit higher crime rate. Mostly rental properties.... Having said that, I've lived in this community for about 16 years and I love it here.
I am a 33yr old mom, with 3 boys. 14,13, and 3. They are in school and daycare, I am free 8am- 6pm. I have worked in the restaurant industry, and Childcare feild. I was Leadateacher with infants for 2yrs and lead teacher in preschool for 2yrs as well. I was located at First Christian Childcare Center, my mom was assistant director.
I volunteered at Sheldon Headstart for 8 yrs, starting from my freshman year in high school. I also babysat my neighborhood kids, and fifth grade teacher from Meadows elementary kids for 6yrs.
I was also involved in Link Cree at Topeka High, and LOVED it!!!
We would basically make Freashman year a breeze, non scary, and very rememoriable for them. It's never easy being the new kid, the different kid, or the quiet/outspoken kids.
I have 18 nieces and and nephews, and with my 3yr old who is NOT such a breeze, compared to his brothers. Children have just always been a major part of my life, wether a wanted them too or not.
I feel like I'd be a good fit for this job because I have outgoing personality a people person. Im very easy to get along with. I have a lot of patience, and history of elder care. I love the elderly community.
