I believe what makes my town age-friendly is that it is a place where older persons can easily stay connected with others and remain independent as well as allows people of all ages to participate in activities that keep the community healthy.
This community does not like people who are older than 40. Job applications are thrown right out the door if you are older. Also if you are not Spanish speaking you can get a job in this town! I was told in an interview in front of 20 men that I was TOO old for the job! and I was so imbarrased. They walked me out of the interview in front of a lot of men, I am a woman and 69 years old, and this was 13 years ago!
There are few transportation options available for individuals.
Because I love working with different people and I love to help people
