Neighborhood is a nice mixed of families and retirees. Not a home owner community!
I feel that our neighborhood is very age friendly because everyone looks out for each other. Our area of town is frequented with the same groups of returning "Snowbirds" every year. The atmosphere is pretty laid back except for the annual bikefests, but the residents normally plan their vacations around those times, in order to give everyone their time. Most of the residents are from out of state, and retired to our community. There is plenty of night life for the young and elder alike if they choose, or quiet walks on the ocean after 5pm are the best.
It is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood with mostly widows or retired couples. All the neighbors keep a look out for one anothers safety and wellbeing. They have water exercising at the pool, you are in walking/or golf cart distance from any store or fastfood. The HOA meetings can get a little cra cra, but I think they look forward to it. As an added bonus, we're only a block from the ocean.

North Myrtle Beach is a family oriented town that is very convenient to hospitals, several restaurants and a variety of shopping centers.
