Close knit community of about 7000 residents. Has multiple housing for the elderly.
The town has great medical access with Holy family hospital nearby/there is a Adult Day health center (Sarah's Place), Pentucket medical closeby/both local libraries have lectures and day tours on specific topics and places for the elderly/the local town hall provides age specific yoga/exercise classes for the elderly/book clubs.
A very livable place. The folks in town offices care and are helpful. Transportation options for seniors are plentiful from the COA. Taxes are among the lowest on the North Shore for small towns. Very quiet and peaceful, low crime rate, safe. Plenty of open space to get outside and explore, spread throughout town.
I do not find it age- friendly (or not) in any particular way. There's nothing I'm crazy about here, in fact we are looking to move out of the city soon.
Alot of the people were born and raised here, may have moved away but alot seem to come back
